As a Melbourne photographer, I have the absolute privilege of documenting families at every stage — from intimate in-home newborn sessions to glowing maternity sessions, and the beautifully chaotic magic of family photography.
But there’s something uniquely special about extended family sessions.
Recently, I met the Walker family for a session in a stunning bush location, perfectly chosen as a halfway point between Frankston and Echuca. Travelling over 2.5 hours to be together, their commitment to documenting this season of life was so incredibly meaningful and it showed in every moment we captured.

The evening couldn’t have been more perfect. Soft light filtered through the trees, kids ran freely, and the entire session unfolded in the most natural, joy-filled way.
There were laughs (so many laughs), games, swinging from trees, and those beautifully unposed moments that tell the real story of a family.

Many of my families start their journey with me during pregnancy, booking a maternity session to celebrate the anticipation of new life. From there, we move into a soft, emotive in-home newborn session, capturing those early days in a relaxed and meaningful way.
And then, before you know it, those tiny babies are running through fields, laughing with cousins, and being scooped up by grandparents during a full family photography session.
It’s such an honour to document that entire journey.
